Box set containing the first three movies from the ‘Rush Hour’ film series. In ‘Rush Hour’ (1998), on the eve of Britain’s handover of Hong Kong, Detective Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) retrieves a valuable haul of art treasures from the villainous Sang (Ken Leung), henchman of crime boss Juntao. Two months later, Lee is called to Los Angeles when Sang kidnaps the daughter of Lee’s friend, Han (Tzi Ma). The FBI, angered by Lee’s involvement in what they see as their case, insist that he is partnered with their own disgraced detective, the unorthodox James Carter (Chris Tucker). Lee and Carter immediately clash, but the two men gradually develop a grudging respect for each other as they follow a series of clues to Sang’s whereabouts. In ‘Rush Hour 2’ (2001) Detective Carter (Tucker) is on holiday visiting his friend Detective Lee (Chan) in Hong Kong. During Carter’s stay a bomb goes off at the US consulate, and this means the old buddies are soon back working together, joining forces to track down the bombers. It looks like Triad gangster Ricky Tan (John Lone) is the man responsible, but he’s not going to give himself up easily, so Carter and Lee get back in the saddle and give chase once again. In ‘Rush Hour 3’ (2007), while in Paris, Chief Inspector Lee’s (Chan) latest assignment is to escort and to protect Chinese Ambassador Han (Tzi Ma) as he delivers a major address before the World Criminal Court Summit in Los Angeles. While delivering his announcement, he is shot and nearly killed. Meanwhile, former LAPD Detective James Carter (Tucker), who has recently been demoted to traffic duty, just happens to be listening to the radio when the tragedy occurs. He rushes to the scene to help, but instead interferes with Lee’s pursuit of the culprit. To get his status back, Carter teams up with Lee one more time to help track down the assassins. With the trail leading to Paris, both will find themselves in unfamiliar territory.
