A meteorite crashes in the Arizona desert, and when scientists Ira Kane (David Duchovny) and Harry Block (Orlando Jones) arrive to investigate, they discover it to be crammed with single-cell alien lifeforms which are rapidly evolving into fully-developed, multi-cellular creatures capable of creating all kinds of havoc.
