A documentary chronicling the ‘lightning war’ of the German troops as they swept into the low countries at the beginning of the Second World War. The strategy was of British origin Colonel John Fuller, the Chief of Staff of the British Tank Corps, first put it forward during the First World War, but it was never used. That is until 1940 when 4,000 elite German paratroopers cleared the way for those that would follow, and soon the Germans had devastated Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. Meanwhile, Panzer divisions swept into France, which would fall in less than a month.
