The first two parts of the fantasy thriller trilogy set in Moscow. Among normal humans live the ‘Others’ possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires while a ‘Night Watch’ of light forces, among them Anton (Konstantin Khabensky), try to control them and limit their outrage. In the sequel, ‘Day Watch’, over a year has passed since the denouement of the original film. Anton continues to fight the forces of Darkness while simultaneously attempting to find and save his son (Dmitry Martinov), who has become a great dark Other, from those same forces. But when dark Others start mysteriously being murdered, and Anton is framed for the killings, he must put his goal on hold and try to escape the Day Watch who are out looking for his blood.
