The Banger Sisters/Working Girl/Le Divorce

Triple bill featuring three popular comedy movies. In ‘The Banger Sisters’ (2002), Hollywood bartender Suzette (Goldie Hawn) decides to travel to Arizona to visit her old friend Lavinia (Susan Sarandon). Back in the 1970s the pair’s exploits as rock groupies were legendary, but while Suzette has continued to live the rock lifestyle, Lavinia has settled down to a comfortable middle-class existence, with a nice home, a husband and two daughters. So when Suzette finally arrives it’s sure to create some problems for the newly respectable Lavinia, not least when her former partner-in-crime starts telling stories of their past adventures to her unsuspecting family. In ‘Working Girl’ (1988), clever secretary Tess (Melanie Griffith) is constantly frustrated in her attempts to become an executive broker; even her new female boss (Sigourney Weaver) steals her ideas and takes the credit. When the tyrannical boss breaks her leg skiing Tess is left in charge of the office and the canny working girl takes over her boss’ portfolio, wardrobe (and boyfriend) with excellent results – until a vengeful Weaver returns. In ‘Le Divorce’ (2003), Isabel (Kate Hudson) heads to Paris to help her sister Roxy (Naomi Watts) who has been jilted by her philandering French husband (Melvil Poupaud). To take their minds off things, the sisters hit the Paris party scene, making new acquaintances with locals and expatriates.
