During the 1930’s as Adolf Hitler built his Nazi war machine, Winston Churchills words of wisdom ,warning of the danger of appeasing the German Fuhrer,went unheeded by the government of the day. This was due in part to Churchills earlier political diseasters most notably the WWI Dardanelles campaign at Gallipoli, where so many soldiers of the British Empire lost their lives. As the then First Lord of the Admirability, Churchill was held responsible for the catastrophe. For most, this fall from grace would have resulted in a tactical withdrawal from public office, but Winston Churchill showed remarkable tenacity and fought his way back phoenix-like from the political wilderness.
