The Likely Lads focuses on the friendship between two working-class men, James Bolam and Rodney Bewes, living in the north east of England. Bob (Bewes) is the ‘sensible’ one, doing his best to get on with his job and ‘better’ himself. Terry (Bolam) is the ‘irresponsible’ one, intent on living life to the full.
