Documentary film, directed by Kit Owens, about the phenomal partnership in 1968 between champion jockey, Lester Pigott and his horse, Sir Ivor. Narrated by actor Nigel Patrick, the 48 minute film is remarkable because until that time, no camera had ever got so close to a great horse’s progress. It would therefore have been a fascinating film whatever happened, but in light of what Sir Ivor and Lester Pigott achieved in that spring, summer and autumn of 1968, it makes this utterly unmissable.
