Triple-bill of memory-loss action adventures starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. In ‘The Bourne Identity’ (2002), badly wounded and suffering from amnesia, Jason Bourne (Damon) is pulled out the Mediterranean by fishermen, and can neither recall who he is nor what happened to him. His only clue to his identity is the number of a Swiss bank account which has been etched into a device implanted in his body. Following the lead to Zurich, he discovers money, passports and a gun waiting for him, but also earns the attention of the security services and has to leave in a hurry. He then persuades a young woman named Marie Kreutz (Franka Potente) to drive him to Paris, where he hopes to find out his true identity and discover the reason why the CIA are taking such an interest in him. In ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ (2004), having abandoned his life as a CIA assassin, Bourne (Damon) has left his violent past behind him and is living a normal life with girlfriend Marie (Potente) under an assumed name. But his plans for a peaceful life are crushed when he narrowly escapes an assassination attempt. Now hunted by an unknown enemy, Bourne must prove once again that he is not an easy target, and take the fight to the doorstep of the agency trying to kill him. In ‘Paycheck’ (2003), computer engineer Michael Jennings (Affleck) is hired for work on top-secret projects and, so that he can’t recount any secret information, his short-term memory is erased after each job. But following his latest assignment, given to him by an old friend (Aaron Eckhart), Jennings is shocked when he realises he has exchanged all payment for the job for a mysterious envelope containing clues to his forgotten past. He then discovers who he really is and sets out to prove his innocence; but not without his old employers giving chase.
