Giulia voleva diventare un’attrice, Carlo uno scrittore. Poi arrivata la famiglia ed eccoli, insegnante di liceo e funzionario di una finanziaria con due figli adolescenti, Valentina, diciassette anni e Paolo vicino alla maturità. Lei vuole fare la soubrette in tv ed è disposta a tutto. Come tutti gli altri in famiglia vuole conquistare qualcosa che la vita sembra togliere, in un modo o nell’altro. Quando Carlo incontra la sua vecchia fiamma Alessia ed inizia con lei una storia, contemporaneamente Giulia decide di tornare a recitare, mentre Valentina inizia a conoscere l’ambiente giusto per un provino che la faccia sfondare. Solo Paolo sembra destinato alla mediocrità.
Giulia wanted to be an actress, Carlo a writer. Then came the family and here they are, a high school teacher and a finance officer with two teenage children, Valentina, seventeen, and Paolo who is close to graduation. She wants to be a showgirl on TV and is willing to do anything. Like everyone else in the family, she wants to conquer something that life seems to take away, in one way or another. When Carlo meets his old flame Alessia and begins a relationship with her, at the same time Giulia decides to go back to acting, while Valentina begins to know the right environment for an audition that will make her break through. Only Paolo seems destined for mediocrity.
