Three classic Hollywood films from the 1930s. Humphrey Bogart appears in ‘Call it Murder’ (1934), where a jury foreman regrets his earlier decision to impose the death sentence for a crime of pasion when his own daughter is arraigned for murder. In ‘Great Guy’ (1936) James Cagney plays Jimmy ‘Red’ Cave, an ex-boxer and investigator for the Department of Weights and Measures, in a fast-talking tale of corruption within the meat industry. ‘The Lucky Texan’ (1934) stars John Wayne as Jerry Mason, a young Texan who becomes partners with an old rancher, Jake Benson (George ‘Gabby’ Hayes), so they can strike it rich with a gold mine. Their lives become complicated though when they attract the attentions of local criminals.
