A collection of extracts from archive newsreels detailing the history of the Stuka, the talismanic aircraft employed from 1939 to 1945 that has become forever synonymous with Stuka ace Heinz Ulrich Rudel. The newsreels capture the actions of the Luftwaffe on all fronts from the campaign in Poland through to the Battle of Britain, the Desert War, and on to the titanic air battles over France, Russia and Germany. The film includes wartime footage of the pilots and combat accounts by Luftwaffe veterans, extracts from original propaganda publications of the Luftwaffe and air-to-air footage of the aircraft of the Luftwaffe on combat missions.
