Pokémon – The Movie: 2000

Animated feature based on the characters of the Pokmon franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri. While travelling the Orange Islands, Ash Ketchum (voice of Veronica Taylor) and his friends are caught in a sudden storm and washed ashore on the island of Shamouti. There they participate in a festival celebrating a legendary prophecy and Ash is named the chosen one by festival maiden Melody (Amy Birnbaum). A ruthless pokmon collector, Lawrence III (Neil Stewart), is determined to fulfil the prophecy and capture the legendary ‘beast of the sea’, Lugia. The prophecy involves the three legendary birds, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, but in his attempt to capture them and summon Lugia Lawrence unleashes their destructive power which results in extreme climate shifts across the world. It falls to Ash to fulfil his role as the chosen one and resolve the legendary pokmon’s catastrophic conflict.
