The Battle of Midway By attacking Midway atoll, at the far western end of the Hawaiian chain, the Japanese hoped to lure the US Pacific Fleet into the open sea and destroy it. Instead, due to superb US intelligence and costly Japanese tactical errors, the attack marked the destruction of the Japanese Fleet and the end of Tokyos supremacy in the Pacific Ocean. The Battle for the West Wall This film chronicles the ultimate demise of Hitlers legendary west wall, dubbed by the allies as the Siegfried Line. The West Wall was a tremendous barrier of fortified defences and minefields, protecting Germany from invasion through Europe. In 1944, this line of defence was crushed, when following the D Day landings the allied troops fought their way relentlessly to cross the line into Germany.
