The Vietnam War : The Invisible Enemy

The Vietnam War was a Cold War conflict that grew out of the American determination to contain communism. For approximately fifteen years, Ho Chi Minh’s North Vietnamese fought against the American-supported south. With the unification of Vietnam in 1975 under the Communist government of the North, the U.S. had officially failed to achieve its objectives. To a nation accustomed to winning, “America’s longest war” was a total disaster: militarily, politically, and socially, and one that , would have repercussions to the present day.
