A triple bill of sc-fi comedies. In ‘Ghostbusters’, after their scholastic grant is withdrawn, New York parapsychologists Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond Stanz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spenler (Harold Ramis) decide to go into business as Ghostbusters. Initially scorned, the trio become celebrities after ridding a hotel of a troublesome ghoul, and are called in by musician Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) when she experiences strange disturbances in her Central Park apartment. In ‘Men in Black’, having chased a fugitive with an advanced alien weapon, New York cop James Edwards (Will Smith) finds himself recruited to the MiB, a top secret agency in charge of alien immigration on Earth. He is partnered with K (Tommy Lee Jones), and sent to investigate an alien prediction of the end of the world. They have to track down a hostile alien life form currently wearing the human skin of a country hick named Edgar. Finally, in ‘Evolution’ a meteorite crashes in the Arizona desert, and when scientists Ira Kane (David Duchovny) and Harry Block (Orlando Jones) arrive to investigate, they discover it to be crammed with single-cell alien lifeforms which are rapidly evolving into fully-developed, multi-cellular creatures capable of creating all kinds of havoc. Teaming up with government scientist Allison Reed (Julianne Moore), Kane and Block do their best to battle the ever-growing threat, but as the aliens have escaped and are quickly transforming into tool-using primates, this could be a lot more difficult than they had first expected.
