The first three movies from the popular horror franchise. In ‘Saw’ (2004), two men, Adam (Leigh Whannell) and Dr Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), wake up to find themselves chained to pipes in a room they have never seen before. Between them lies the dead body of a man with apparently self-inflicted gunshot wounds. As they begin to piece together the circumstances that led to their predicament, the pair realise they are the latest victims of a serial killer known as the Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), who orchestrates situations in which his captors will be driven to kill each other. They also learn that the killer has taken Gordon’s family hostage. How can the men possibly outwit this sadistic psychopath in time to save themselves and the hostages? In ‘Saw II’ (2005), while investigating the bloody aftermath of a grizzly murder, Detective Eric Mason (Mark Wahlberg) has the feeling that it is the work of Jigsaw (Bell), the notorious killer who disappeared leaving a trail of bodies – and parts – behind. And Mason is right. Jigsaw is at work again. But instead of two people locked in a room with only one unthinkable way out, there are eight. Eight strangers, unaware of their connection to each other, forced to play out a game that challenges their wits and puts their lives in jeopardy. In ‘Saw III’ (2006), after eluding the cops, psychopathic killer Jigsaw (Bell) turns an abandoned warehouse on the edge of town into a gruesome torture chamber. Jigsaw’s new protégée Amanda (Shawnee Smith) kidnaps a doctor who’s forced to keep the evil master alive. Barely clinging to life, Jigsaw begins to carry out his gruesome plans for the lady doc and another helpless victim.
