Aspiring burlesque artist Peggy Martin (Marilyn Monroe) gets her chance of stardom when she is taken out of the chorus line and becomes a huge hit. Before long, Peggy is being romanced by a wealthy bachelor, who wants her to give up the stage and move in society circles. Peggy’s mother, Mae, is not impressed, and warns her daughter that star-crossed romances seldom last for long.
