All six episodes from the first season of the 1970s ITV sitcom set in Norfolk during the Second World War. Three very different young women – debutante Daphne Finch-Beauchamp (Marilyn Galsworthy), Cockney lass Jenny Dabb (Terese Stevens) and down-to-earth Jewish girl Shirley Bloom (Philippa Howell) – are sent to Crabtree Farm, Norfolk, owned by the tight-fisted farmer Tom Whitlow (John Stratton), to work as ‘land girls’ – replacing the male farm labourers who have been sent off to the front.
