‘Dodgeball’ (2004 is a screwball comedy starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn as rival gym owners competing against each other in a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament. Sweet, underachieving Peter LaFleur (Vaughn) is the proprietor of Average Joe’s, a run-down gym with an oddball clientele. Despite its shabby exterior, the gym catches the eye of competitor White Goodman (Stiller), the greedy owner of the gleaming, ultra-modern Globo Gym. Staging a takeover of Average Joe’s looks to Goodman like a doddle – until the attorney from the foreclosing bank, Kate Veitch (Christine Taylor) is unexpectedly won over by Peter’s boyish charms and decides to do all she can to save his gym from Goodman’s clutches. In ‘Dude, Where’s My Car?’ (2000) Jesse and Chester are two half-witted stoners who discover their car missing and they can’t remember where they left it. The only clues are a matchbox cover from the Kitty Kat strip joint and a fridge full of munchies. They must now retrace their steps and soon both are in for the ride of their lives as they encounter alien chicks and killer ostriches whilst trying to score ‘special treats’ from their unhappy girlfriends. ‘Harold And Kumar Get The Munchies’ (2004) is another stoner comedy following Korean-American investment banker Harold (John Cho) and Indian-American medical-school candidate Kumar (Kal Penn). Harold and Kumar decide to spend their Friday night searching for a White Castle burger, a task that proves a lot more difficult than they imagined. The two friends wind up on an epic road trip of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling, and enough half-baked, politically incorrect philosophising to outweigh a White Castle value meal.
