Triple pack of sci-fi/horror films.
‘Night Watch’ (2004) is a fantasy thriller set in Moscow. Among normal humans live the ‘Others’ possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow, the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires while a ‘Night Watch’ of light forces, among them Anton (Konstantin Khabensky), try to control them and limit their outrage.
In ‘Alien Versus Predator’ (2004), early in the 21st century, a billionaire is convinced that his satellite thermal imaging system has picked up evidence of an ancient life form buried under the ice in remote Antarctica. When a team of archaeologists sets out to investigate, they find more than they had bargained for: the ancient pyramid temple they discover contains evidence that the alien life form it contained could still be in existence and that it could lay waste to the human race.
‘Resident Evil’ (2002) is the big screen version of a popular computer game. A virus has been sealed in an underground research centre, the Hive. Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) are sent in with a team of commandos to destroy it. However, they have reckoned without the fact that all the presumed dead employees who were trapped in the Hive with the virus have been turned into the living dead and one scratch from them can cause the recipient to become like them…
