All six episodes from the fourth season of the BBC comedy series written by Roy Clarke, in which miserly stuttering shopkeeper Arkwright (Ronnie Barker) employs his down-trodden nephew Granville (David Jason) in his grocery shop while attempting to woo the ample-bosomed Nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Lynda Baron). In ‘Soulmate Wanted’, Granville puts an ad in the personal column of the newspaper. In ‘Horse-Trading’, Arkwright offloads some useless clothes horses to a rival shopkeeper, and is distressed to see his rival turn a profit. In ‘The Housekeeper Caper’, Arkwright advertises for a housekeeper in order to make Gladys jealous. In ‘The Errand Boy Executive’, Granville becomes obsessed with a girl who works in a boutique, and tries to pretend that he owns Arkwright’s shop. In ‘Happy Birthday Arkwright’, Arkwright is shocked to hear that a reviewer for the Good Shop Guide is in the area. Finally, in ‘The Mystical Boudoir of Nurse Gladys Emmanuel’, Arkwright tries to get into Gladys’ bedroom, usnig chocolates and a ladder.
