Matthias the mouse is a young novice living in the Abbey Redwall, adopted by the order when his family were killed by the evil warlord Cluny the Scourge. Despite growing up in such peace-loving surroundings Matthias dreams of becoming a warrior, and when Redwall itself falls under threat from the evil rat Cluny, Matthias and his friends Basil the hare and Cornflower the mousemaid have to do all in their power to save their home. In so doing Matthias uncovers a secret prophecy that seems to implicate him in ways he’d never have imagined.
