Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and Doctor Watson (Nigel Bruce) go to Washington DC in search of some missing micro-film which must not, by any account, fall into the wrong hands, i.e. the Nazis. The film is notably cheeky for its WW2 propaganda and Watson’s fixation with American bubblegum.
