Pacino plays top sports better Walter Abrams, who grooms Brandon Lang (McConaughey) as his protege when Lang seems adept at picking consistent winners in the high-profile world of sports gambling. But with millions of dollars at stake, Lang enters into a deadly game of cat and mouse as various cons and tricks start to unravel, pitting him against his former mentor in a battle of wills. In ‘Scent Of A Woman’ (1992), hard-up student Charlie Simms (Chris O’Donnell) agrees to a job over Thanksgiving weekend to earn some much-needed cash. The job entails escorting blind, embittered ex-Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Pacino) on a trip to New York City. Slade plans to eat, drink, make merry and womanise – but unbeknown to Charlie, Slade is also intent on blowing his own brains out at the end of the excursion.
