Two Great Life Stories on One DVDWaylon Jennings and Willie Nelson Far better than I expected and for me very interesting Not a concert but a documentary on each separately including the odd performance clip as a retrospective or at time of recording (Waylon 1990 and Willie 1992). Many interview clips with performers now no longer with us, in fact most of them with I think only Willie (now age 87 later this month) and on the Waylon section Sonny Curtis (83 next month). Sonny was a ‘Cricket’ and Waylon narrowly missed dying with Buddy Holly but swapped his ticket. Amazing to see some Holly clips/photos I hadn’t seen before and hear the radio adaptions of his hits for advert trails. On Willie a nice clip with Ray Charles dueting on the piano with ‘Seven Spanish Angels’ and claiming that Ray beat him at Chess!
