3rd & Bird – A Very Squooky Christmas!

3rd & Bird is a new, animated preschool series about a community of birds that live, learn and play in the branches of a beautiful old tree. 3rd & Bird was created by Josh Selig, creator of The Wonder Pets, and uses Photo-puppetry animation.
The vibrant community of 3rd & Bird is always alive with songs, dances, and whistling galore. In each episode we follow Samuel Lovebird, an adorable young bird, as he explores his world and learns all about his community. 3rd & Bird teaches children the value of being an active member of their community. As Samuel and his friends participate in community activities, they develop social skills that are integral to the functioning of a healthy community. Along the way they learn important life lessons about diversity, tolerance and perseverance.
3rd & Bird is an irreverent, joyful series filled with humour, whistling, dancing and an eclectic cast of flying characters. Though the series takes on important social issues, it never loses sight of the importance of a clever turn of phrase or the timeless fun of physical comedy.
This DVD includes a double-length Christmas-themed episode.

A Very Squooky Christmas!
The feathered friends are in festive spirits in this special Christmas edition of the charming pre-school animation series, which sees the residents of 3rd & Bird burst into seasonal song.
Its Christmas Eve, and Samuel, Rudy and Muffin are decorating the tree when they hear a strange sound. As they go to investigate, they come across a little mouse that has become separated from his parents. All the birds in the treetop community pitch in to help reunite the little mouse with his family, just in time for Christmas.
Ice Skating!
Samuel, Muffin and Rudy head over to the frozen branch with Mr Beakman for some ice-skating! Samuel notices Mr Beakman wont get on the ice. Mr Beakman tells Samuel hes always been afraid to ice skate. The kids help Mr Beakman overcome his fear and have a great time.
Samuels Dance!
Everyone is practising a dance for the big dance party but Samuel just cant find his rhythm! Rudy helps Samuel learn how to relax and soon he is doing his own awkward but charming dance. When Samuel accidentally scratches a record at the dance party, he creates a whole new dance craze, the Samuel Scratch!
Starry Night!
The whole community is gathering at the top of Branch Hill to watch the meteor shower. But the hill is too steep and Mrs Billingsley cannot reach the top! Samuel gets everyone to form a bird chain and they gently pull up Mrs Billingsley, in time to see the lovely meteor shower.
The Amazing Muffin!
Samuel and Muffin go to The Amazing Beakmans magic show and Muffin is blown away by his tricks! She goes around the neighbourhood trying to perform her own tricks but none of them work out. Just as she is about to give up, Mr Beakman encourages her and the two put on a magic show together wherein Muffin makes Mr Beakman disappear!
Mariachi Muffin!
The community is throwing a fiesta and a mariachi group is supposed to show up. Unfortunately, the band is unable to make it and Mr. Beakman announces that without the band theyll have to cancel the party. Everyone is glum until Muffin picks up a pair of maracas and shakes them. Thats it! The kids decide to make their own 3rd & Bird mariachi band.
Elliot the Budgie!
Elliot the worm decides that hed like to join the Budgies! But when Samuel and Rudy bring him to a meeting, Mr. Beakman points out that the Budgie code says a Budgie is a bird who never gives up. Elliot, being a worm, just doesnt qualify. Mr. Beakman must appeal to the Grand Budgie to change the rules and accept all creatures that never give up into the Budgies.
Down To Earth!
When Muffin accidentally drops Chloe, her favourite toy, outside the tree, she is determined to retrieve it. But none of the kids have ever been to the ground before! Mr. Beakman agrees to lead an expedition to rescue Chloe and the birds descend to the ground inside his Earth Buggy. The group is amazed by the new sounds and sights on Earth, but after searching long and hard, they can’t find Chloe. Just as they are about to return to the tree, a rabbit uncovers the doll and Muffin and Chloe are reunited!
