Diaz: Don’t Clean Up This Blood

Director Daniele Vicari’s dramatic reconstruction of the bloody police raid against the activists and journalists sheltering in the Arnando Diaz School in Genoa at the end of the 2001 G8 summit. With the local authorities at the time allowing the police carte blanche in how to deal with any demonstrators on the ground, the film traces the stories of those caught up in the actual events, as a force of over 300 riot police, determined to show the ‘lefties’ who’s in charge, set about their quarry in a viciously brutal night-time raid.
