This documentary tells the story of the RAF’s 501 Squadron, who formed part of the retaliation against Germany’s attacking aerial forces in August 1940. Although outnumbered, the RAF fighters – who Prime Minister Winston Churchill later referred to as ‘the few’ – staved off the German planes, and members of the 501, including pilots Sergeant ‘Ginger’ Lacey, K.W. Mackenzie and V.R. Snell – tell their story here in their own words.
