Hurricane Andrew, one of America’s worst natural disasters, hit the country in August 1992 after a covert military operation to control the weather went disastrously wrong. Seven years later, the leader of the initial project, General Roberts (Martin Sheen), recruits meteorologist Ron Young (Luke Perry) to intercept another hurricane, brewing 300 miles off the Californian coast. The top-secret order is to redirect the weather front to Mexico, but the bungled mission only succeeds in increasing the storm’s strength – as it heads straight for Los Angeles.
