The Secret

In nineteenth century Newcastle, Freddie Musgrave considers himself lucky to be taken on as a runner by businesswoman Maggie Hewitt. Freddie comes to care for Maggie’s foster daughter, Belle, but disapproves when she marries Marcel Birkstead. When Freddie is framed for a murder from his past, his own investigations turn up some dark secrets, and place a surprising perspective on his own relationship with Belle.
